Jason Camden, Founder & Craftsman
Bone & Wood began in a small backyard workshop on the Central Coast of New South Wales, where molten silver, burnished copper and finely ground shell are transformed into distinctive, handcrafted jewellery.
Jason Faulkner Camden is a practical, hands-on maker with a natural why not give it a go? attitude. Curious, resourceful and rarely deterred by a challenge, he has spent much of his life building, repairing and restoring, from boats, homes and furniture to antique tools and machinery.
A former firefighter, beekeeper and lifelong surfer, Jason’s work is shaped by an enduring connection to the natural world and a deep appreciation for materials that carry age, history and character.
Experimentation & Curiosity
Jason is drawn to the quiet satisfaction of making something from nothing. His instinct to experiment, investigate and solve problems has guided a diverse range of projects, including innovative builds, product development, furniture making, machinery repairs and the restoration of old tools and objects.
Bone & Wood began during a period of recovery following hip replacement surgery and the ongoing challenges of arthritis. While researching natural remedies and the historical properties associated with copper, Jason began experimenting with the material in his workshop.
What started as a way to remain active and keep creating soon developed into a dedicated jewellery practice. Jason began combining traditional metalsmithing techniques with natural, reclaimed and unusual materials, producing pieces that reflected his curiosity and unconventional approach to making.
His work first gained the attention of friends and family before finding a wider audience through the Manly market community. Today, that same spirit of experimentation continues to shape every Bone & Wood piece.
