Sustainability & Ethical Practices at Bone & Wood
At Bone & Wood, sustainability is more than just a concept—it’s the foundation of everything we create. Every piece is handcrafted with a deep respect for the land, the materials it provides, and the stories they carry. By using ethically sourced, reclaimed, and repurposed materials, we ensure that each ring is not only unique but also crafted with minimal environmental impact.

A Commitment to Responsible Craftsmanship
Jason, the maker behind Bone & Wood, is dedicated to preserving traditional craftsmanship while embracing sustainable and eco-conscious practices. Every ring is made by hand, using techniques that highlight the raw beauty of natural materials without excessive waste or mass production. This slow, intentional process ensures that each piece is one of a kind, built to last, and made with purpose.

Sustainably Sourced & Repurposed Materials
We make every effort to source materials responsibly, ensuring that each ring carries a story of renewal and respect for nature.
Repurposed & Recycled Metals – We melt down antique silverware and repurpose copper, silver, and other metals from old jewellery and reclaimed materials, reducing the need for newly mined resources.

Repurposed Materials
Naturally Shed Deer Antler – Ethically collected from the bush by a close friend, ensuring no harm to animals while honouring the beauty of nature.
Locally Sourced Wood – Each wooden ring features sustainably sourced Australian timbers, such as Australian Red Cedar, giving new life to naturally fallen or salvaged wood.
Beach Sand & Natural Elements – Rings incorporating Manly Beach sand, Whitehaven Beach sand, and other natural materials are crafted using sand collected over decades, preserving a piece of history and the essence of the Australian coastline.
Repurposed Turquoise – Sourced from old jewellery found locally, ensuring that this rare gemstone is reused and given new life in unique, handcrafted designs.

Handcrafted on the Central Coast of Australia
Every Bone & Wood piece is shaped and finished individually in Jason's workshop.
Small-scale production allows Jason to create with care, minimise waste, and work in harmony with the materials.
No two pieces are ever the same, each carries the subtle variations and character that only handcrafting can bring.

Low-Impact & Thoughtful Production
Sustainability extends beyond materials—it’s embedded in every part of the process:
Eco-conscious finishing techniques that avoid harsh chemicals.
Minimal packaging, using recyclable and biodegradable materials.
A focus on quality over quantity, ensuring that each ring is designed to be worn and cherished for a lifetime.

Jewellery with Purpose
At Bone & Wood, every ring tells a story of sustainability, craftsmanship, and connection to nature. Whether it’s a wedding ring, a remembrance piece, or a custom design for a special occasion, our rings are more than just jewellery, they are a testament to mindful making and the beauty of repurposed materials.
By choosing Bone & Wood, you’re not just wearing a ring, you’re carrying a piece of Australian heritage, handcrafted with care, and rooted in sustainability.
